Daniel Corujo just presented at the ICNRG meeting (http://irtf.org/icnrg), IETF87, our joint work with UC3M on ICN Management (http://atnog.av.it.pt/content/named-data-networking-flexible-framework-m...) which has generated a IRTF draft (http://tools.ietf.org/html/draft-corujo-icn-mgmt-01). The subject received high acclaim from attendees, generating interesting discussions with CISCO and HUAWEI, with more people outlining synergies and offering contributions to the draft. Slides can be found here: http://www.ietf.org/proceedings/interim/2013/07/28/icnrg/proceedings.html

Carlos Guimarães, Daniel Corujo, Rui L. Aguiar, along with our colleagues from the EDOBRA project (http://www.fp7-ofelia.eu) Flávio Silva and Pedro Rosa, have had their paper entitled "Empowering Software Defined Wireless Networks Through Media Independent Handover Management" accepted in the Globecom 2013 symposia.
This paper pioneers the coupling of handover optimization mechanisms (inspired by IEEE 802.21) with OpenFlow path establishment procedures, laying the basis for the future deployment of SDN in heterogeneous wireless networking.
The proposed framework has been validated through an extensive integration work involving the SoftSwitch OpenFlow software implementation (https://github.com/CPqD/ofsoftswitch13) and ATNoG's own open-source IEEE 802.21 implementation ODTONE (http://atnog.av.it.pt/odtone). Experiments were executed over ATNoG's AMazING testbed (http://atnog.av.it.pt/projects/amazing).
